Do you still use them when you're no longer elite? What would people/FAs/GAs think when your boarding pass status doesn't match up?

I have a very old (circa 1994) Delta Gold Medallion bag tag on my rollaboard (I'm a current Diamond). Given that a lot of people flying out of MSP have their old NW tags still on their bags, I figured I'd throw an old Delta one on there.

I'm a lowly PLT, lol, so am holding out to get baggage tags until I'm EXPLT. :D

I do have an Admirals Club one, as well as an FT one on my bag. Hey! When are we gonna get MP tags?!

I took a bunch of my old Delta Elite & various MM Tags (going back to Royal Medallion, but no Flying Colonel) and had them framed to hang in the bar we have in the house that is decorated in a travel motif. Kind of cool.

That's a good question - I'll be losing AA EXP status this month, and my good girl scout self doesn't feel quite right about leaving those tags on the bags. And I won't be going for EXP again, so it's truly farewell to the tags and the status. OTOH, I did earn them once and they are part of my permanent record [IMG]. I think they'll stay on for awhile - what do others do?

I have a tag from a now defunct airline (Ansett) - amazing the amount of comments it garners.

Per above but I was wrong about the Royal Medallion. Hmmmm where did I put that?

I always use old membership cards as bag tags. Just grab the hole punch, thread one of those plastic/rubbery tags thru and voila, new bag tag. Most of regular bag tags dont last a year, so I find this a handy way of keeping track of checked luggage (really only applies when I travel with the family) as when I'm solo, I always carry on.

Until the merger, I had a DL card like the one at the bottom of your picture.

At least one suitcase still has my NW PE tag. However, one of my old NW tags was stolen from a suitcase around the start of the merger.

I wouldn't expect old tags to lead to better treatment from TAs, GAs, FAs or lounge dragons because they have status in front of them or can easily find it on their computer (or flight manifest for the FAs).

Never use them as they always break.....FT tags were good though and bendable (is that a word?).

Why do I keep looking at the title of this thread and seeing 'old elite tea bags'. Need to have my eyes checked.

I never had any bag tags....

NIce hardware. My collection is all lowly silver 'n gold. Maybe one day I'll get into some serious precious metals.
