The Independent: OFT halves BA fuel surcharge fine
I just try to figure this out ie. is it now good or bad news and for whom? Food for thoughts, thanks for sharing!
BAD ... means:
a) BA can rip off customers yet end up getting a slap on wrist.
and here even worse b) The BA groupies here will vehemently defend the practice and tell you " BA is the most profitable airline in the history of mankind"
Actually, if you bother to read the reports (let alone read the history of this long-running case), you'll see that the airline that ripped off its customers yet ended up getting a slap on its wrist was VS.
BA's had to pay this fine as well as a large amount to passengers by way of the class action settlement.
Further, the reduction in the size of the fine follows what happened during the criminal trial. You may have forgotten, so perhaps a two-letter reminder of what went wrong is needed: VS.
But please, don't let the facts get in the way of an attack on BA.
