Hate to see an empty forum. [IMG]

The thing that struck me the first time I flew into ZRH was that passport control was done by local police (Kantonspolizei) rather than a national service. I've never seen this anyplace else (though I am not the world traveler that some are and ZRH is the only airport I've used in Switzerland).

It's also unique for me in that I've flow into ZRH a half a dozen times, but only departed once. The other times I've either taken the CityNightLine to Düsseldorf or Amsterdam or a train to Salzburg or München (or beyond). My next trip will correct that somewhat as I'll arrive and depart ZRH.

OK, enough post count padding for now...

I'm annoyed that since Switzerland joined Schengen my passport now gets stamped every time enter or leave Schengen zone at ZRH (eg to visit F lounge when in transit) whereas previously no passport stamps.

I gave you a like because that post generated a mild chuckle. As in "only kiwi can complain about an extra passport stamp". :D

I like passport stamps. Having to pony up for more pages is just another sign that I've been doing well and traveling a lot.

My government doesn't allow pages to be added to a passport. The 48 pages as issued is all you get.

Then my response would be to get a new passport. Line up the old ones on the bookshelf.

I understand it's a pain for some people. I'm just saying it's a little badge of honor for me to get each and every stamp.

Agree with Scott. On another note, has anybody been to the ZRH Observation Deck? Great for plane spotting, along with AMS.
