Obama’s Public Speech Cancelled

  1. Barack Obama’s public speech in Rio de Janeiro has been cancelled, with the American President now set to make his address to a selected audience inside the closed confines of the city’s Theatro Municipal.
    Although work had already begun on erecting the stage where Obama was expected to address the public, last-minute changes have meant that it is now being deconstructed.
    The changes are thought to have been made at the request of Washington, and thought to be security related. Obama is set to meet with Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff during his visit in a bid to strengthen diplomatic ties between the two countries.
    The US president is thought to be visiting Rio with his wife, Michelle, and their children, but details of their plans are being kept tightly under wraps. [​IMG]
