For many O'ahu is their first introduction to Hawaii .... home to Honolulu and Waikki and by far most of the population of the state ... So let's share the spirit of aloha as it is seen on the island of O'ahu.

Photo of a float during one of the many parades that go through Waikiki ...

.... and what would be a parade in Hawaii without horses?
Notice the beautiful quilt ... and the numerous lei around the neck of the horse, as well as the young lady ...

... and what about Anthuriums ... and all that PINK ... I am trying to recall whether it was a float by the "Pink Lady" of Waikiki - the Royal Hawaiian Hotel - or not!

Re post #13, the large hotel is the Sheraton Waikiki and the pink hotel to the right of it is the The Royal Hawaiian.

That was misleading actually, the hotel I stayed at is not visible in your picture.
It's the other Starwood property :)
*oh and its just the Royal Hawaiian...its part of the Luxury collection; be glad I'm not Starwood Champion!

I am always amused by those who don't like O'ahu "because there are too many people there." In fact, it's only that way if you choose to stay where all the people are. This is the beach on the North Shore just above Camp Erdman, today, (a Sunday morning) at about 10:30.
