06FEB11 WLG many prop flights cancelled due to low cloud.
Due to major earthquake in Christchurch, CHC airport is closed until further notice. Not expected to reopen before 7pm tonight (22FEB11).
Due to disruption to air traffic control systems and aircraft stuck on the ground in Christchurch and otherwise out of place, there are disruptions elsewhere as well.

Jetstar has cancelled flights at all centres for the remainder of the day. Jetstar notice
Update CHC airport remains closed until tomorrow.
CHC airport expected to reopen today - for domestic flights from 8am (yet to be confirmed) and for international flights from this afternoon.
Visitors to CHC are advised to not come at least until the weekend.
CHC reopened today for domestic flights at approx 0800 and for international flights at approx 1400.
For those with tickets to Christchurch in the near future who don't live there, please change your plans. Here is some advice from a TA on the accommodation situation.
Many of the hotels in Christchurch are unusable. All others (and the parks and schools) are jammed full with emergency staff and those who had to evacuate their places. If you can avoid stopping in Christchurch please do so. Many (all?) airlines are allowing free rerouting/rebooking for alternate dates.
Christchurch airport is fully operational, however visitors are requested to stay away at the moment.
