NYC Transit announced today that passengers paying reduced fares will be forced to wait five minutes before being allowed to board and then city bus drivers will require them to stand even if seats are available, citing the "genius" of United's new passenger harassment program.
Several cruise lines are also looking into making boarding and deboarding onerous for those opting for lower fares. One company is experimenting with giving passengers a 25 pound lead weight to carry up and down the gangway along with their luggage. "We want our low paying passengers to have nightmares about doing business with us" so that, no matter what, they will pay through the nose in the future." explained one CFO who worked for Boo.com before its spectacular implosion.
How long would this be allowed, US DOT?
