So I am an AA GOLD, while my fiance is just a Citi AA cardholder. I thought that since the PNR had both of us on there, we would both get PriorityAAccess but then I just checked us in online & took a peek at the boarding pass.

Mine says PriorityAAccess, while hers just says Group 1. Does that mean I can go through the PA security line & board before her? Or can we just go through it together?

Just tell the person checking passes, she's with you. But she will need to be with you when going through.

If you booked the tickets and both of you are on the same itinerary then both of you get PA.

I thought about that, but wasnt sure if it'll work.

me :) Otherwise I would've had her book it to get 2AA miles on her card, but I was hoping on PA.

I always do the booking and it never shows up on Mrs. flyforawg's boarding pass. She always approaches the PA checkpoint with me, I show mine and say she's with me and works 100% so far. Same at the gate for boarding.

You could always try booking it, but just use her card for the payment. Or would that not work with the AA credit card?

It doesn't matter who booked the ticket. Status is tied to AAdvantage number. As long as your AAdvantage number is in the reservation, you'll get Priority Access. (And that's why her ticket printed with Group 1.) My experience is that you don't even need to be on the same PNR for your fiance to board with you (or anyone else who might be traveling with you)...as long as you're traveling together you can board at your access level, even though your travel partner's boarding group is lower than yours. As flyforawg said, just tell the gate agent you're traveling together.

You have to go together. You hand your BP first. Then say, "She is with me" and she hands her BP. That's it. I am EXP and have to do the same when traveling with certain friends/family. Has nothing to do with PNRs being same or different.

However, AA have done a royal job of creating confusion around the term PA. Please listen to the boarding announcements and do make sure that you go only when your group or "Gold" is called. Otherwise, you'd be doubly embarrassed in front of her. :)

If she's always traveling with you, then I would agree she should cancel the card and ride on your tails. But if she travels without you, having Group 1 and one free bag is still pretty darn near Gold.

"She's with me" always works. Usually we are chatting while in line and I never even have today anything tithe agent - it is obvious we are traveling together. My colleague has never been questioned. One exception - she may not be able to come with you if the call is for First Class. I got chewed out once for bringing a Non-F during the First Class call. The agent said that the coach section was still being cleaned.

    You mean 2.14 right?

Is there any airline that forces separated a pair when one has priority and the other doesn't?
