    But I also only put charges on this card if they have a promo that gives me more than 1x.

    My understanding is that it used to be capped at 100,000 miles per year, but they removed that limit a while ago.

    Those of us with elite status never had a mileage cap. Now AA is just extending this benefit to everyone, elite status not withstanding.
