Just booked EZE-JFK-EZE in F today, and some other flights in and out of EZE came into the 30-day period in which you're supposed to be able to pre-reserve your meal, but the option has disappeared on AA.com. Anyone know if this has been discontinued, not available into/out of Buenos Aires, or is it just a tech glitch?

Can't speak for that route specifically but I selected meals for flights ~10 days ago. Domestic US.

This is not true. Pre-selection of meals is now available on all AA flights that offer a meal service.

Likely a technically issue. It was working for me earlier but see the option is no longer available on my upcoming itinerary. Others report the same.

There's a note on AA.com now saying they're updating some systems. Could be related.

I just called AA about my own flights, which are almost the same as yours, but in reverse (JFK/EZE and EZE/MIA/JFK). The woman I spoke to said the pre-order menu options are not yet available on EZE flights in either direction. She also mentioned the system updates -- so, maybe this is actually just a system glitch that needs to be fixed. Might be worth checking again in a week or so.
Also, don't forget to post a report about the LAN club as a temp substitute until the new AC is up and running in 2014.
Also#2, -- just curious: if you're based in Santiago, why bother going over to EZE when you could use SCL instead?

The AAgent's claim that it's not available on EZE flights is false. Even the AA.com page on pre-orders states its available.

I'm guessing he's going to EZE in order to fly an F cabin. SCL only has 2 class planes.

Thanks! -- I'd never seen the page you referred to (http://www.aa.com/i18n/utility/pre-order-meals.jsp) and my own EZE flights aren't until December, so it's way too early for me to check it out. I'll try my luck in early November.

I think you meant SCL has only 2 class planes. I haven't flown in or out of there in years and my memory is rusty.

Exactly. And EZE is much less expensive than SCL; when I booked my September flights SCL-DEN priced at $2552 in Y, whereas EZE-DEN came in at $3800 for J up and F back.

I've had some trouble with domestic meal selection within the 30-day window.

The solution, most of the time, is to log out and log back in.

As I have said and posted elsewhere, Sunday is not the day to complain about AA's systems. On Sunday, the Lord rests and AA updates. Check again on Monday.

There's still time before my flights on the 22nd so I'm not getting too worried, but this is the first time I'm flying since this option was introduced for international flights, and I was looking forward to it! Kind of a let-down.

Since this thread's already going, I'll just post another related Q here...

I'm on flight AA295, MIA-LAX 777 in F. No option for meal reservation appears, although they do for my EZE-MIA flight. It's 8:25am-10:50am, which makes me think that a meal would be served, but the flight doesn't appear on the list. Is this because there's no advance reservation for breakfast?

I don't think so, as I've had the option to select breakfast in the past. I've also yet to come upon a breakfast flight that didn't have two choices. Doesn't mean they don't exist, just haven't seen one yet.

On each of my EZE-MIA, JFK-EZE, EZE-JFK and JFK-EZE flights this month I only have dinner pre-order options, no breakfast, and again, no options at all on the domestic breakfast flight. I figured breakfast just didn't get offered. I'll keep my eyes open for changes.

When it comes right down to it I usually take the least popular item offered over the "healthy" choices, so regardless of breakfast pre-order availability or not, I'll be happy.

I'd say it has something to do with catering limitations in EZE, but you've seen it both ways for morning flights on that route?

Sorry, I should clarify - there are the overnight flights with both dinner and breakfast service, NOT breakfast-only flights. But I figure a meal is a meal, and both would be open for pre-order.
