NEWARK, N.J. — Nine people are in the hospital after a crash with a taxi sent a New Jersey Transit bus into a building in Newark.

NJ Transit spokesman William Smith says it happened at about 12:45 a.m. Thursday.

Smith says the bus was headed for Newark's Penn Station when it was struck by the cab. He says the impact carried both vehicles about 90 feet across a median and the bus ended up in the storefront.

Smith says the bus driver and seven passengers, along with the cab driver, were taken to a hospital.

    The accident is under investigation.

We better install driver-facing cameras so this accident could have been prevented. Since that's what they seem to think would have prevented the derailment in NY.
