Is the Nexus lane open that goes to the initial BP screening, have a flight at 0600 on a Thursday and would like to gage the extra time will need if I will be in the "regular" line up to the initial BP screening, I know that after the BP screening the Nexus line splits away from the regular line.

Sorry for the tardy response. I find there is no predictability when the NEXUS lane will be open....and if it's open, there is no guarantee it'll be faster than the regular lanes.

CATSA staffing and procedures are awful from coast to coast, but everything seems to be a little worse and inept at YVR.

Yes, your absolutely right, staffing is terrible, and not wanting to sound racist it does seem as though most of the staff at YVR comes from a particular country outside of Canada and they do not seem to want to expedite the screening process

Has little do with race, but rather the staffing levels, SOP and the design of the checkpoints.

Dare I say....CATSA makes the TSA look good.
