News release today
So much for our Senator Cards next year.....time to burn the miles I think.
Uh oh...will they still be in *A at all?
there are a few variables to work out I think. BA clearly doesnt want them, Virgin would stand to gain since it would be more gates at LHR and virgin could use BMI as a back door entry to *A.
Virgin separately has said they will choose an alliance soon anyway. So hopefully it all ties up into a nice package.
If Sir Richard Branson and Singapore Airlines (since they own a controlling stake in VS) are reading this, please help BMI (and its FF members), and please choose *A!!!
Hmm...time to choose a backup *A program I suppose, or else I would be left without *G status
Aegean is an easy way, as is AC if you fly on AC metal 4x's
AC METAL 5 times or 10000 status miles

Will keep that in mind...thanks guys!
thanks for correction. I always thought 4x
It has to be Asiana! 40k in two years. Easy!
Just to clarify, you still need the 35k miles earned in a year to get AC Elite, it's just that 10k or 5 segments must be on AC metal.
But OZ only gives 25% bonus in Business, this is about the only thing that makes me don't want to join in the OZ bandwagon, as I do sometimes fly in the premium classes. I'm also thinking about TK, IIRC about the same requirements as OZ but with a much more generous premium class' bonus than OZ.
I'm a lowly Y-flier, so that doesn't make a difference to me
If your premium travel is frequent, LH M&M might be reasonable.
I mostly fly in Y also, with occasional Js thrown in once in a while .
LH's requirement is 100k a year. There's no way I fly that much in a year. As it is, I barely scrape through on BD's requirement.
I switched from bmi to mileage plus for next year. Reasonable benefits start at 50k for prem gold.
