I don't understand what "jamming a finger in the trash bin" means and how it traps him.

What a great story with so many questions.

"The 32-year-old, who was not identified, was forced to endure a landing at Chek Lap Kok airport while standing in the bathroom alone, according to a report out of Hong Kong."

alone? Who else should be in there with him?

"Police said there were no apparent injuries on his finger and the man left the airport."

    so weird. The end?

...now that is what I call “giving the finger”.

Perhaps he tried to flip the “bird” by “flipping the bird”?!?...
