    They're definitely free range - although it remains to be seen quite how they'll taste after a diet of leftover hotdogs and pretzels.
    New York officials are to send the city's unwanted geese to feed the hungry in Pennsylvania, after last summer's mass slaughter provoked angry protests.

    Hundreds of birds were gassed amid fears over airline safety, and their bodies were left to rot in landfill sites.

    This year officials have bowed to pressure and decided to turn the city's geese into dinner rather than trash, by sending them to Pennsylvania's food banks.

    The mass culls were authorised after a flock flew into U.S. Airways Flight 1549, forcing its pilot to perform a miraculous emergency landing in the Hudson River.
