SO how do other s like the new user interface for this web site?

I find it dreadful and poorly designed.

It's definitely different. I think its a bit too structured with clear boxing (not sure what the technical term is) and not as fluid.

I like TFD part but since i'm already following them on Twitter + RSS feed it's a bit redundant. Articles seem nice. It isn't just an RSS feed of boarding area it seems.

Correct. It is a new set of blogs built to compete with Boarding Area but run by the same people.

Kind of crazy as randy Peterson was one of the owners of Flyertalk then sold to start Milepost with a few others.

Peterson is also one of the owners of Boarding Area along with Gary Leff.

Boarding area is a lot better for finding deals as Milepost(Inside Flyer) has become mostly a social chat blog!

I actually get all my tips from Flyertalka nd Boarding Area not this web site.

Ahhh....but do you want a site dedicated only to deals? Will that attract enough traffic?

    Two different questions:
    1. Yes, I want better travel web site that gives best information of mileage awards and special airfares and hotel deals.

    2. Traffic will increase if Peterson's goal is web hits and quantity of traffic to make money.

But the biggest issue I have is poor GUI(graphical User Interface) of this web site. Very limited and done without much designer creativity.

I suspect most regular readers read many sites, and has many other interest also.

Computer programs can monitor many sites in their searches,

    The load time has increased.

Curious what you see as different than what Milepoint that effects your overall experience in using the forums. The changes to the forums were more stylistic and related to colors and shapes but over all, the templates were not that drastically changed. Would love to hear your opinions on why you feel this way about the design.

The more graphics the more bandwidth required, so the longer to load, simple.

Milepoint seemed slow to me, but the new site is slower. For the mobile site I'd like to see pages that are a few hundred kb, on the desktop site I think you should still shoot for about one mb, not the four plus we saw at launch. Also reduce the third party load able items, each slow down the site.

Loading of site is notably slow, but at least it remains readable with all ad-blocking tools in use -- which is a good thing.

Find the HOME page clutter with images that make the page uninteresting to view.
Many images not only slow down web site loading time but also make it hard to find the links you need.

My focus is on POINTS, mileage deals, award redemption, and travel deals which the home page should load not a page like a news story.

FLyertalk also has converted to a similar design like Insider Flyer and not as enjoyable as older formats.

What value are all the images if it's slowing down loading and clutters page making users scroll down to sort through the maze of images and partial headlines?

I think the old format of MP was easier to view for scanability.

....and I am still seeing ads, in addition to all of the 'sponsors' splashed about.....the same items show up multiple times on the home page, our user icon with the various alerts is buried below, so you have to scroll down, before it was at the top right hand corner and the red icon made it noticeable....the worst is how it is so slow to complete and action once I click anything.

This forum post is the ONLY one that does not show who has posted and number of replies.

Almost as if it's been disabled due to poor web site feedback.

Thanks for your input and we do read these and reply to see what we can add and fix. Visual cues to content is a positive experience for most sites and helps draw a reader into a story. That's why they are there. Images really shouldn't be slowing down your experience. We didn't add images to threads, so you shouldn't have too much to worry about there on the difference between MP and IF. Once again, thanks for all the input and sorry you don't like the changes.

We are working to increase the speed of the website.

Layout is too cumbersome to see links. This posting has been removed why?

Clearly speed is Not the only issue but Inside Flyer wishes to ban feedback versus solicit more feedback for improvements.

Still reallllllly slow. I was on the road for 10 days with metered internet service, so I only logged on a couple times when I had free wifi. I wasn't going to burn through my bandwidth limits on loading a few pages from this site.

Not a good thing when a travel oriented website is not traveler-friendly.

We are working on the speed issue with the sites. We think we've pinpointed the culprit and are working to get a fix in place ASAP.
