Just got in the mail yesterday a new updated Citi Executive AAdvantage cc card. I have had the card for over a year and I was surprised they already update it. It now has the chip technolgy embedded in it and also my AAdvantage printed at the top of the card. That's always nice since I don't have my AAdvantage number committed to memory and save me a little time instead of fishing it off the phone app or boarding pass. Nice that they are making the card more international user friendly.

    I don't think there's a number I know better than my AAdvantage #.

Sometimes I can't even remember my own phone number :) Oddly enough they never ask me for it at the DFW Admiral Clubs but do every time I go to the SFO AC.

Slightly OT but does Citi still charge foreign transaction fees with this card?

    No. From the citi website
"No Foreign Transaction Fees on Purchases8

It's your money, whether you're spending it at home or abroad. Pay no foreign transaction fees on purchases when you use your Citi ExecutiveSM / AAdvantage® World EliteTM MasterCard® credit card. Keep more of your money where it belongs — in your pocket."

Nice they upgraded the card, but still not worthy to me. The chase Hyatt card recently got replaced with a international chip card, also no fee on int'l transactions. Annual fee is $75, I got 2 suite nights after first purchase.

Admittedly, my DL # has been ingrained after many years of use! That said, my AA # ingrained itself very quickly over the past year!! :D

I wanted the miles last year to count towards million mile status. I like this card but will have to reevaluate after this year. I also like the Hyatt card and plan on getting this year. But I have read about some users not being able to redeem their free nights at the top tier Hyatt's

I think this chip is only Chip + Signature. It still doesn't help us that need full EMV Chip + PIN compliance for those pesky automated machines in Europe (like the Swiss SBB ticket kiosks!)

Got the new cards too. I have no clue how it will be useful without the pin, though, like jace says

For those who want chip and pin, just remember that in the event of fraud the bank will claim that you didn't properly secure your pin and will forfeit standard consumer protections..

I'm pretty sure they never did on this card, from the beginning, by the way.

What other choice is there? Should we be declining this and stating that we want to keep the standard card?

I thought this was chip + sig and not chip + PIN. Does it work with a PIN now?

I wasn't saying this is chip and pin, i was replying to the folks who really really want chip and pin and just suggesting that there are tradeoffs :)

You're talking about a different card. The Executive card is only available as a MasterCard, and it has never had a foreign transaction fee.
