Just got my updated Mileage Plus rules. shocked to see they have removed the number one reason I was loyal, the ability for Premier/Silver to book Economy Plus seating!!!

The new program leaves that to day of flight availability..Help me reach out to United and let them know that is not acceptable to it's best customers!

The customer service email is premiervoice@united.com

Sorry that you were surprised but these changes were announced several months ago. I've already done my emailing but I doubt it will do anything...

Yeah it sucks that's for sure. I doubt it will change though especially since DL's version of E+ is similarly less generous to its first tier "elites" and looks like the same will hold true for AA, as their Main Cabin Extra is only free at booking to first-tier folks through 2013.

Yup, United's E+ seems like the program to beat. Maybe it's not guaranteed at booking anymore for silvers, but at least it's still free.

I'm guessing people don't actually read the emails that united/Continental sent out. This is not news, it was announced months ago. Plus it has been available on both websites (prior to the final merge) as well.

I wonder how ling before we get the "what happened to Continental airlines " post.

That was the best premier benefit. Now that AA is adding a similar product you may wish to see how their program will work for your flying habits. Delta also has a product of this type.

With my amount of traveling lately, it was much better for me to get *G through A3. If I need E+ I'll just pay for it. For domestic flights it is nice, but not really necessary. For international flights, I usually redeem C/F award anyway.

Nothing happened to Continental, they just changed the spelling to United ;)

I'd say you're right about the emails... You get so much marketing BS most just get deleted. Unless they title it "Reduction in your Silver benefits" likely to be ignored

I need some help. NY State is auditing me for 2007 and claiming that I am a NY resident. I live in CT and have to prove that flights I took in 2007 left NY at the beginning of the day to prove that I wasnt in the city that day or arrived at the end of the day proving the same thing - it is insane. Airlines dont have info available that far back on departure and arrivel times . I have all the flight numbers. Does anyone have any ideas ? Many thanks - JIM

I can't help you, but I would definitely start a new thread with a title describing your situation to get people to read it that might be able to help you out.

Given all that Greece is going through right now, I considered A3 too high a risk for my tastes.

I don't know. I can't seem to find their website anymore. Tried Pan Am, TWA and Piedmont also and can't seem to book flights with them.either.

Why would your airline tickets have a bearing on establishing residency? If thats the case, they'll think I'm a resident of illinois instead of michigan...

No, had a couple of nice, safe, comfy landings. I was on one of them.

Jeepers! Just tried Braniff, Eastern, and Northwest Orient and they're off-line as well!

Take a little nap, and all sorts of things go wrong . . .

That's absurd. D;)u you have any of your boarding passes? If you use Ez-Pass, do you have statements showing when you paid tolls on your way into NY or on your way to the airport?
