For some, you may heard (especially Marco Polo Members with access to Club Magazine & News) that CX is finally going to have her own lounge over at Level 4 at Concourse A in SFO's International Terminal. Some highlights of the facility include the Noodle Bar that is featured at the Wing & Pier and Solus Chairs that are found at the Cabin. According to a Marco Polo Agent I spoke with earlier today, the facility is scheduled to open tomorrow (Dec 1st). Originally she mentioned it was suppose to open earlier but postponed due to construction delays. Nonetheless if they are scheduled to open tomorrow, we can't wait to experience it when we depart on CX879 next week as based on the descriptions provided by the club magazine, it will be a nice improvement from the BA Terrace Lounge. Only potential minor drawback is as a result of being located on the 4th floor, there won't be boarding directly from the lounge that the BA facility offers if aircraft is parked at Gates A4 or A6. Here are the details provided from the 4th quarter of the club magazine (sorry text isn't very clear as a result of creating the files for attachments):

They're really kept this under the radar. I didn't even know there was a new lounge in the works. My last trip through the international terminal was in August when I was flying CX.

No. The Solus are round, not like the long diagonal rectangular herringbone.

I visited the lounge on December 1st when I flew SFO-HKG-KUL. I was the second person there for my flight, the late one, so they'd already had the earlier flight in the lounge. The staff are very enthusiastic, and were showing each arriving passenger all around. They have three showers, four computers, the fastest wireless connection I have ever had in a lounge, and, above all, noodles!

The lounge is not large but is more than adequate for a single flight at a time. It is a huge improvement over the previous shared lounge. The CX station manager (an Argentine, BTW) was on hand for the entire evening.

Happy days are here for CX SFO passengers!

No just CX passengers at SFO, but AA passengers, too. Don't forget they have a new lounge and new terminal in T2 at SFO. Nice to have some space there, compared to the old lounge in T3, as well as recliners with footrests. One could easily fall asleep there and miss a flight.

It would be so nice if LAN moved its contract lounge from BA to CX. While the lounge is a pleasant space (BA), the pickins are slim, only improved slightly because of the little CX spread put out around the time of the LA/CX departures. (And flying OW w/o status, I can only get into the contract lounge, not any OW business lounge.)

Depends on your class of travel. From the Oneworld lounge access page:
