I can make some $ on this. thanks.
I'm more thinking we'll get more canceled flights. Why take the chance if anything is less than ideal, just cancel and move on.
Like all good ideas, this will bite us.
From the article:
"Airlines will soon be required to refund bag fees if they lose luggage, and they'll pay travelers more for bumping them from a flight."
Translation - Ticket prices will be going up.......to cover this.
Also...what about those of us with status on that airline to cover said baggage fees (ie 1 or 2 bags fly free). No refund obviously!
"The federal government planned to announce new passenger protections Wednesday that also expand a tarmac-delay rule to prevent passengers from being stranded on international flights for longer than four hours."
Translation - More canceled international flights anytime it looks stormy (or even might rain). Forget about snow/ice arrivals/departures now......so goodbye leaving ORD NYC etc in the winter for a flight to Europe.....
"The airlines will also have to include fees and taxes in advertised prices."
Translation - Read the fine print. Just taxes and government-imposed fees have to be included. Nothing about bags or upgrades or pillows (semi-kidding..see US Air) here....(only that such have to be disclosed on the website....)
