    Hi all,

For many months now, I've been compiling a massive new guide to points and miles programs that launched today on the iBookstore for iPad and Mac. It's currently in the Top 5 Travel books and I thought some FTers (oof, my mistake!) MPers might be interested.

The book is loaded with embedded videos, slideshows, graphics and charts that make traveling with points and miles easy for everyone to grasp. I think it can be helpful not only for beginners but savvy miles and points collectors, too. Kindle and Android versions will arrive soon, with many of the same features.

For miles and points fans, I’m most proud of three apps integrated right into the book that I call Passports. Each of these break down award charts and elite status info for American, Delta and United in a way that’s much easier to follow than the official charts. It’s everything you could want to know about a program on one screen.

After a few chapters that lay out the basics, the book dives into chapter-long guides on most of the major airline and hotel programs. Along the way, there are also chapters dedicated to Round The World bookings, Lounge Access, Alliances and even Amtrak. Bonus chapters that cover even more programs (IHG, Club Carlson, Virgin America, cruises, casinos, etc) will be released as free updates.

At http://book.pointsaway.com you can see a 2 minute video of the book in action and learn more, as well as download the first chapter for free.

If you're brand new to points and miles travel, I think it's a great way to start learning all you need to know. If you've been at this hustle far longer than I have, the Program Passports and other info can still be a valuable reference tool. I'm already using it everyday in my own planning.[IMG]

Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for checking it out! [IMG]

The real problem the miles and points keep changing, and will continue to do so...

There are many hacks and creative ideas to gain even more...

A book is a great start, but doing is a far better teacher..

Nice to have some skin in the game...

Is this a review of the book? When you say "good work" "amazing guide" and "many will find...worthwhile" it suggests that you've read the entire book very carefully and are endorsing it. Yet it seems to have just been published today?

Also, do you know anything about the author's qualifications?

Oh, totally agreed. Thankfully, making it digital means being able to offer free updates to the book over time so it'll stay up to date. While it's a great primer for beginners and handy reference for veterans, getting out there and earning/using yourself is the only way to really master this stuff.

MSPeconomist: Possible uggboy used the promo code and checked the book out? I'm not sure. If you'd like to check out PointsAway.com, you can see some more about what I do. I have 90k+ miles of trips booked personally and do case studies for readers each week showing them how to book more complex trips with miles and points :)

    Casey-

I wish you luck but to say you've amassed 600,000 miles/points makes it hard for someone like me, who has been at it for ten years, to imagine spending those dollars to check out the ideas of someone much newer to the game than I am. I'm guessing lots of others on MP and FT will feel the same way.

That said, I do often get asked by people how I do what I do and it sure would be easier to just tell them to get the book! So while it's hard for me to imagine $15 value for me personally, I wish you all the best. Promise to read the first chapter.

    Good luck!

This is much like a guy wanting to take pictures, until you get out there and do it, and see the miles in your account you are but a dreamer.

As a kid I use to talk about buying houses, and traveling, at 72 I own many properties, and have traveled to many places...it can be done, but you have to prime the pump to get the water flowing.,,we passed 600,000 miles already this year, it is easy once the water gets flowing,

I flew Delta and American in the prop days.

Might want to visit Amazon Kindle to move your e book, not much of a market for it on these sites. Too many sharks.
