I would love to get in on this but I can't get anything but normal rates to show up for the Hawaii properties I'm staying at next month. Maybe I'm not reading things right...

In the past, whenever I have checked, the rate required for the first night was so much more than the best rate I could use from SPG.com that it did not make sense to use this promo. Too bad...otherwise I might have extended a couple stays by an extra day.

Only one hotel in Seattle is offering the promo. It will not work for me.

For some properties, you can have more success in finding promos if you go to the hotel's own website rather than what clicking on SPcom brings up. Look for a link at the top of the hotel's SPG page and then look for a link there for promotions. Usually at that point it looks like a Sheraton or whatever website.

Then you usually must search for the promo rates individually, sometimes entering the code by hand. In fact, sometimes the displayed promo codes are incorrect or inconsistent. The buy two get one etc. type rates may be available even if they do not appear on the list.

Another annoying aspect of this is that when you make the reservation, even though you were logged in at SPG.com, you must reenter all of your information that is stored in your SPG profile.

Must be 18 or older to participate in this promotion.

So, looks like they'll be running this promo for another five years. Too bad, my son (3) has always wanted to take us to a nice hotel for a couple of days. Won't they think of the children!?!? :)

  13. Cool, make the younger people pay more!!
Totally in line with the average salary distribution you would expect in the population, right?

I guess that if they gave a % discount related to the birth year it would make much more sense (e.g. birth year-20%, born in 1970. get a 50% discount on the 2nd day rate...)

I used this promo with success quite a few times in the past, mostly at sheraton boston. first and scond nights have to be best available rate, which in most cases is higher than other advertised rates, but...keep looking and you'll find one that will actually be a great deal.
even though my birth year is 84, stll this promo gave me some awsome deals.
