I realize that this is the JAL forum, but just wanted to let everyone in western Japan know that there will finally be a direct flight between FUK to HNL on Delta. Hooray!

For the past 10 years, the only direct option was to fly one of JTB's expensive charter flights with JAL.

Sept. 2, 2011- Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) today announced new nonstop seasonal service between Fukuoka, Japan, and Honolulu, beginning Dec. 28th. With this service, Delta will be the only carrier to offer scheduled nonstop flights from Fukuoka to Honolulu.
The flight will be operated using 209-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, with 35 seats in BusinessElite and 174 seats in Economy, including Delta’s new Economy Comfort section.

Also, I hear that Hawaiian is seriously considering doing a direct flight in the future as well.

It is exactly what I discussed in the other thread about the Delta service......I wonder how long it will be until JL or NH decide to get back into their long neglected Southwestern outpost !
