American Airlines passengers arriving at Miami International Airport (MIA) from international destinations are now entering the United States via a new, larger Federal Inspection Service facility, which opened on July 31 at MIA.

The three-level, 400,000-square-foot international arrivals facility located in American Airlines’ Terminal D is twice the size of the previous facility and is easily accessible to arriving passengers though the Terminal D skytrain.

At last! The walk to the old facility was a little silly...

Wish it had been open a couple of weeks ago. We took the sky train, but still had a healthy walk after getting off. They also seemed to have an abundance of dogs on duty at the baggage carousels.

Good to hear. Finding the Global Entry machines before was the absolute worst. Terrible signage, and if you were in a crowd of people (as normally when getting off a metal tube full of them all streaming towards immigration and customs as fast as possible at the same time) very easy to walk straight by them!

The best news from that perspective is that there are now six GE kiosks in clear sight rather than the formerly hidden two.

Does anyone know if LAN flies into Terminal D (since they are One World and construction is done on Terminal D) or are they still at Terminal J???

Both British and LAN operate from A and this probably will not change anytime soon. D is only American, nothing else. IIRC.

There is an "A" at Miami? I thought they got rid of A, B, and C when they constructed the new Terminal D.

    Current
    BA: checkin counters concourse F
    Arrival/departures concourse E
International arrivals INS facility (new) D

    LAN: checkin counters concourse H
    Arrival/departures concourse J
International ariivals INS still at J.

ALL OW airlines will be using concourse D ( which consists of old A, B, C, D now known as the North Terminal ) in the very near future AND most likely the low numbered gates where most the airline clubs will be located.
The above is dependent on the new baggage system being fully operational (its only partially so now)
