So it looks like current/previous EXPs will earn milestones 1 and 2 while earning EXP again? That is cool.

If that's so, it's great - but I worry about the value of SWUs if they're handing so many out. I guess the number of people flying 125k+/yr is pretty small though, and this might change the balance for folks who alter their purchasing strategy late in the year after having 100k in the bag...

I think SWU upgrade priority respects status so I'm not seeing it as a major issue and as you noted there are not that many people hitting the higher numbers.

A marketing friend told me once that EXP amounted to about 1% of total AAdvantage. No idea where that came from or if that's even close but it's what I use when I contemplate it because I've nothing better ;-)

I wonder if you have already passed the 1st level whether you will get the reward retroactive?

    Answered in Ts&Cs:
"If you have already reached a milestone, look for your first reward notification email in May. Reward selection will continue through February 28, 2014."

There are about 60 million AAdvantage members/accounts but certainly not 600K ExecPlats. More like 60K if even that many.

Already past 40K EQMs so shall await my email next month and the second one in the early autumn. But what to select, 10K or 10% off? 20K or another SWU?

I don't fault your logic but isn't 60K just your best guess too? Note: Lots of folks on here would probably torture you if you have inside information on EXP stats so be careful how you answer :)

10K or 10% off? That's easy. You only have to know how much you will spend on AA tickets. :)

20K or another SWU? SWU is more valuable in my eyes, but it expires. If I was sure of using mine, I would pick SWU. If that's doubtful, 20K.

Well feel rest assured that no one on this website or FT for that matter (with perhaps the possible exception of the almost invisible official AA rep who drops by here a couple of time per year ) has any semblance of a clue as to the number of AA EXPs in their program.:)

Seems like this is just an extra bonus if you're going for Exec Platinum anyway. :)

All I'm saying is that I'd rather put my money on .1% rather than 1%. Though my guesstimate is also based on known numbers from AC's elite program which has about 4.5m members and about 9K top tier SuperElite members. So I feel it's safe to consider other NAmerican programs are also in the .1% - .2%.

It could be my faulty memory and she really said '< 1%' which is suitable vague :)

It sure looks like an improvement over past years bonus options. I wonder what prompted this change?

Let's not stop anyone from trying their hardest to figure it out though. That's half the fun of FFer communities. :)

It may simply be I have terrible memory and she really said 'less than .1%'. I recall at the time I didn't think much of it, everyone's been guessing on that one for as long as I've been doing the FF thing ;-)

Got mine yesterday also, and going to choose 10K.
Mike, I think 20K is worth more than SWU isn't it?

Not for me. I need the SWU more than I need 20K miles at this point. A miles+cash upgrade would be 25,000 + $350 where I'd want to go. A SWU would be $0.
