Flew MSP-NRT-SIN today and new amenity kits on both flights. Kept the korres and added a shoe shine. New bag shape should be good for repurposing to electonics/power cords...

Shoe shine dongle was a NWA staple, if I remember correctly. I wonder if this kit is the same for TATL?

Most Asian airline amenity kits still blow this one away though. Cmon Delta, try to compete!

Thanks for sharing the pic! That bag looks much better than the red cylindrical bag they've had most recently...not really useful for anything. And it looks like there's a "real" pen! ;)

I received one of the red ones on my JFK to MAD trip two weeks ago and received the new style on the return. My daughter scooped up a few unused ones for her "collection."

I am not liking the new eye shades - only one strap. The old style had two straps so one went above the ear and the other under the ear.

I also miss the older kit that had the mesh bag - those are great for reuse!

What the heck is the clear plastic thing? Some sort of shoehorn? Otherwise, it looks fine.

Why the brown color? Red or Blue fits in with the DL colors - but brown?

I think they've had some brown amenity kits at times in the past but yeah, brown can be ugly and it's not a color we associate with the brand anyway, so this appears to be a strange choice. Some MBA consultants probably recommended it.

When I travel, I use those red bags to carry the chargers for my electronics.

Have you seen the Singapore Airlines one? ;) Small little pouch with just socks and eyeshades. All other toiletry items are available in the lavs...

Well, the duvet is sorta brownish, and the new tablecloths are beige-ish, and then there is the new faux-wood 'brown' tray....

I for one like the new shoehorn in the amenity kit -- wish the lie flat seat was already on the A330's the routes I fly seem to be A330 heavy.

Maybe this is a sign that UPS is going to take over Delta?

You're luckier than I am. Ever since the merger, I see lots more of the horrid 767-300s and fewer of the A330s which are much better even if they don't yet have flat beds.

I just noticed the brown theme is also in:
    • Menus
    • Tray plates
    • Place mats
Is Delta slowly changing it's colors?

Personally, I don't like the brown colors when travelling because they remind me of overseas tummy trouble......

That kit actually sounds pretty good. Scoring a Tumi pouch should be a big upgrade over the generic Delta-branded stuff, but surely it ain't cheap.

Thanks for finding the photo. The kit looks as nice as I was imagining. With one exception. I don't care for the clear plastic shoe horn. Too easy to lose. They should have gone with black or gray to match the fabric parts of the kit or with Delta's red. I get that they were matching it to the toothbrush, but I'm not sure I like the clear toothbrush either.

Probably won't be the fanciest kit out there, but it looks like it will suit a carrier as large as Delta pretty well.

    Pretty sweet looking!

Now if only the bag was a little bigger, had some wheels and an extendable handle...

The red cylindrical bag is a perfect fit for the telephoto lens for my Canon G9. Just enough padding to protect it, a custom container wouldn't work any better.

Those red mesh bags are great for holding change, keys, thumbdrives, etc. in my carryon.

I got a very nice little AF amenity kit last month, soft tan leather with no logo on it, Mrs, Gargoyle said it will make a great clutch purse.

If only they just gave all those Red Kits to the homeless and started stocking these LAX-JFK. Those red kits are horrible.

Aside from the major improvements. I really like the looks of the new pen too...I've got someone traveling to London in June who is going to be bringing a bag back for me so can't wait to explore the contents first hand.
