Looks like most of the benefits of the Citi AAdvantage Executive $450/year card are now coming to the Platinum Select $95/year card: http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/e...ditDebit/citiCards.jsp#!citi-plat-visa:apply1

    From the website:

Doesn't include Admiral's Club membership (which would be the primary benefit for the higher cost) or the 10K EQMs after $40K spend.

And someone on Flyertalk found a post on the AA Facebook page that says these benefits apply for those who already have a Platinum Select card.

Cardmembers that currently have the Citi® Platinum Select® / AAdvantage® Visa Signature, Citi® Platinum Select® / AAdvantage® World MasterCard, Citi® Platinum Select® / AAdvantage® World Elite MasterCard and Citi® Select® / AAdvantage® American Express will start enjoying these new benefits today!

And more than enough reason to cancel the Executive AAdvantage card after the first year :)

Seems like a pretty good deal, this will really make me think about keeping the card instead of canceling like I originally planned on doing. :)

Ahhh just read the fine print that my flight in June won't be eligible for the free bag or priority boarding as I've already booked the flight. Oh well.

I also won't qualify for the $100 credit as there is no way I could or would spend $30k a year on that card.

Still has potential though, I'll have to weigh my options.

In the past Citi's retention department has been very generous about giving statement credits and/or miles when the annual fee is up. I've never paid the annual fee on my card and I am definitely NOT a heavy spender.
Only time will tell if Citi's retention policies change with the new benefits.

I booked a trip March 28th that cost 105k miles, will this redemption qualify for the 10% back?

Not really sure as there is no date stipulation attached to the fine print of that benefit. You can only get 10k points annually so if you do get it, will be maxed out on the first redemption.

Only trip booked from today on is my understanding. You can contact Citi to confirm.

There are lots of nice new perks on the card but what about the stingy 30K sign up bonus? I'd expect at least 50K to be a competitive offer.

Just wish the $100 Discount for every year was retroactive. Be nice to have all those discounts. :D

Looks like they're benchmarking the base United and Delta offers. Though some have reported still getting approved for the prior non-publicized 50k AA offer as of yesterday.

I wonder what it would take to upgrade the CitiBusiness MC card to the new card? Annual card fee difference would be only $30 or $35.

There is a long thread on those deals on FT. You may gain some insight there as to whether folks are still having success getting 50K.

So, for $10/year I should be able to get 10K miles rebated. Nothing to complain about.

But this is making the Exec card look even sillier. I would think that the Exec card would have all of the benefits of this, and more. But, no, it's a different set of perks, with some overlap.

Had some unauthorized activity on my Citi AA card  and got a new one ... looks like they have our AAdvantage numbers on top. Wasn't there before.

Weird, my AA card didn't have it from when I requested one in October 2011 when the magnetic swipe stopped working.

Just got a new AA card a few months ago - same thing - now has my AA number printed, but not embossed.

I called the number on the back of my Citi AA World MasterCard and talked with the CSR. He checked and confirmed that the benefits had been activated on my account, which I've had for >5 years, and which doesn't come up for annual renewal until later this year.

The card I received in September of last year had the AAdvantage number printed on it. Do you have your picture on the card? I have since I got the account, and that might be the reason -- since they're printing the picture anyway, they just added the AA number?
