    Wonderful news.

What's your issue with their service? I find their longhaul J service to be amongst the better European offerings.

I'm pretty sure I've been sliced on purpose by an AF FA on a regional flight, and I find their FAs are usually not very attentive. I much prefer KL service. My favorite service overall in Europe is TK, and the food is good enough I can put up with the less than polished FAs.

YMMV, of course. I find AF long-haul C to be generally delightful, and service very good to excellent. Ditto for KL, although I favor KL to complete my Delft house collection. http://www.klmhouses.com I know I could buy the missing ones but that seems like cheating to me. KL 773 seats are OK, but 772 is less so. Both could use the Cathay style update. DL has become my new favorite to/from the US since the new seats wet installed.

What in the world did you do to prompt this?

    +1

Like the service or not...the seats are great news! :)

It might help with AF to speak French (well) with the FAs.

I, too, find AF service to be delightful. I speak the slightest bit of French, but I haven't found that to matter much. The current seats are dreadful (comparatively), so I am elated they'll be installing the best-in-class J seat!

I just wonder how long this is going to take...

Also, it will be interesting to see what they do with their F product. It's somewhat undistinguished in terms of hard product as is, and will in many ways be worse than J once this new product is introduced.

In my market almost all their FA's speak Portuguese and seem to like doing so; otherwise they tend to try English first, then French. I find they enjoy speaking multiple languages.

I know a few works of french" Trois Poir SVP" Just enough to order my favorite sorbet at Berthillon.

And for getting sliced. I was on a mostly empty flight (under 20 passengers) and i was towards the back, and in the beginning the FA seemed antagonistic towards me as the lone non-french person on the domestic flight. woke up to a long slice wound. FA refused to help with the first aid kit.

Agree. Even CX and SQ are reportedly having problems filing F these days.

I have seen noting nor heard anything about that, only that both of them are suffering in F because many banks have restricted use of FC. I'm looking for the quotations but have not yet found them.

Well, with CX having some of their newer 77W fleet without FC and SQ is none too certain about F, it is a rather bleak future for F...

Irritating news. I don't want to hear it! I wonder what will happen with TAM, LH and so on. AF retains F on the A380, only nine seats, but they're nice ones. I hope LH and JJ keep theirs. Selfishly said, I admit.

I selfishly admit that I want the airlines to keep F as well....

did not know that Delta has the same in 747. I might fly again with those skyteam airlines if they improve on-time landing !

From anecdotal reports it seems as though the 747's may not be contributing to that good record. I have never flown one of those, since Northwest, that is, but the refurbishment if business class in the 767 makes it a favorite for me and on my routes DL has been perfectly reliable fir more than a year. FWIW the only negative on DL today IMHO is SkyPesos. AF has become a favorite since cabin upgrades too. Although KL has not upgraded cabins the service and houses make up for much of that. IntraEurope on Aeroflot, for those of us who travel to Russia, is great with excellent timeliness and real business class seats. On balance I am a SkyTeam fan.
