I'm thinking of doing a mileage run on USAir or AA. Does anyone have any recommendations from Tampa?
Do you have a timeline on when you want to do the mileage run? I would keep watching for deals to see what comes out.
He wrote US or AA...
What month would you like to fly? How long of a trip (one day turnaround, overnight stay okay, etc.)? What is your budget? How many miles do you want to earn? Cabin class (economy/business/first)?
The more information you provide, the more help you will get.
Tpa to Seattle or Portland Oregon you can fly a whirlwind there on a Tuesday afternoon and return Tuesday night on a red eye usually $280 rt
I must be blind. (Or it was before coffee.)
I must be doing something wrong. I went into Hipmunk and checked out a Tuesday April 1 flight from TPA to Portland PDX, and it was giving me prices in the $600 range and up. Same with Kayak. (Note that I did not write the original post, I'm just checking this out for my own information).
This always happens. I'm not sophisticated at booking flights on-line, and people always quote prices for flights that are less than half of what I can find. Is this, perhaps, too close to the date of travel? Time of year? What's the secret? -DA1
You're not generally going to get the best price one week out. Also that price may be thinly available, if at all, currently.
Search out months and search often. Prices change all the time. Those are the only real secrets…..that I am aware of. I have found CLT-PDX, CLT-SFO flights for $250 on DL with persistence.
Yes you need to book in advance, a month or 2.
