    And it's free through March! No doubt so they can figure out how to load-balance all that streaming video to make sure it doesn't bork the internet connection for everyone on board.

    Well, it is only available on the planes which have the Ka-band satellite connection similar to what JetBlue has on its planes. That should be able to handle the demand for the streaming.

    But there are only 2 of those planes in the fleet right now and it only works over CONUS; those two planes are going to be flying to Hawaii a lot as they're the only ETOPS planes in the fleet. This is great marketing buzz but lighter on actual passenger benefit.

    Even worse is that VX won't really tell you in advance which type of plane you'll be on so you won't know that the streaming is going to be available until you're on board.
