I normally would have no issues getting EXP yearly. I am in a rare circumstance of zero travel for two months now, and I will not let my status slip.
I am at 70,000 miles for the year. Based out of DFW.
What would be the most efficient Long haul route to cap 30k flight miles over a few weekends between now and Dec 31st?

    Thank you

    What's your budget for those 30k miles? <1000$? 1000-2000$? <3000$? +3000$?

    I have been budgeting 3,000 +
So far, I have looked at DFW-SFO late night flights, which would require about 10 RT's.
If there's a more efficient option, I am all for it.

Short flights are rarely efficient for accumulating lots of points. Look to Asia, though fares ex-DFW might not be so pleasant.

I think realistically you could do two RTs.to Asia or EZE/SCL for less than 3000$ total.

And that's only because you'd be leaving from DFW. If you can position to either.coasts it could be cheaper.

Try Australia with QF or JNB/CPT with BA too!

DFW direct to Seoul RT $1350 economy. No connections - stay overnight at Incheon airport. Just one idea.

when in doubt always look towards PVG. but long flights and weekend and low price hardly align themselves

ICN is a great airport for a high mileage MR. It's a city on to itself and my favorite airport worldwide.

Its unfortunate j and f fares do not earn 50% bonus towards elite miles only towards points which do not run concurrently.

How many elite points do you need? Maybe catch a Premium Econ flight on BA or CX someplace and get the 1.5 pts per mile. You could hop down to Houston and grab one of the BA flights to LHR and it would give you about 13k pts for a turn.

Sent using a small piece of fruit.

I'm in a similar position as ciscokid454. I'm based out of ORD and need 25k to re qualify for EXP. Thoughts on good MRs. I'd like to spend between $1k-$2k.

Recently there have been LAX to EZE for 910 and LAX to SCL for 752 r/t. The flights out of DFW or JFK to both are nice since it is one or two hours longer than the flights out of MIA. That means you can takeoff, get first drink at 45 to 60 minute mark, have dinner and a movie and still time for 5 or 6 hours sleep before they wake you up for breakfast.

It's been my experience that cheap quick turn fares in Asia from DFW are more rare than a Yeti. Everything is 2 day minimum stay or double the price. I'm unsure about Latin America. Europe is usually not too bad.

Do you want all AA metal or ? I see 10k+ options out of DFW same day turn to Europe for < 10 cpm, so within your budget.

If you can spare a couple days off and want something more aggressive there's DFW-LHR-JNB and back .. 3.5 days and 21k or so. That plus a same day turn to Europe somewhere and you are done for less than your $3k budget.

Hawaii flights are usually cheaper in Nov/Dec.
