I need 800 miles for GM. I am MSP based. Is Delta offering any promotions to earn MQMs other than flying?

Buy a Sky Club membership (1500 MQMs)

Get an Amex Delta credit card (check for sign-up MQM bonuses)

But, your cheapest bet will probably be to just make a mileage run. Check here

    Gold is worth it.

Worst case, spend $140 and do a same-day turn in STL. The morning of Dec 18 would work. Otherwise the CCs are a good option, but time is a bit short to be assured of those posting in time. Last year delta provided options to donate to charity around the holidays and receive mqms as well.

The sky club option is a good one if you do not otherwise have access. The CC option is really tight on time at this point.

go to farecompare flyertalk fares to find the best MR for a one day turn. Anything with a connection will do it.

With a 500 mile minimum, wouldn't any flight anywhere and back qualify?

Any two segments would produce at least 1,000 MQM. However, the OP would be stuck with a new AmEx, Hilton stays, a gift of MQM from a friend with a DL Reserve AmEX, or the SkyClub promotional offer if the goal is to not fly (my schedule reached the point last year where I could not add trips, so I understand).

Unfortunately I am unable to fly till the end of the year. Can you tell me more about the gift of MQM from a DL Reserve AmEx?

    Thanks

By signing up for the card, you get 10,000 MQM. There's a steep yearly fee of $450, but the benefits are worth it IMHO.

    • Earn MQMs: Earn up to 30,000 MQMs - which you can keep or gift to friends or family members - each calendar year with Miles Boost(SM).1
    • Delta Sky ClubTM Access: Enjoy complimentary Sky Club access for you and two guests.2
    • First Bag Free: Get a free checked bag for up to nine people in your reservation - a roundtrip savings of $50 per person.3
    • First Class Companion Certificate:Earn a free Economy or First Class Companion Certificate each year upon renewal.
    • Concierge Services: Receive complimentary, 24-hour a day access to American Express® Concierge Services.4

The platinum card has less benefits (5,000 MQM on the first purchase, no skyclub access, no companion cert) but also comes with a less expensive price tag ($150).

The timeline to have the miles post is getting tight.

Too bad the charities are apparently left out this year.
