NC, SC state line isn't where folks thought it was

    You know, Tennessee is still stealing a lot of Georgia's water from the Tennessee River because of a similar issue. There's even a lawsuit. The show How States Got Their Shapes featured the dispute as well. It's a big one because of the growing need for water for the Atlanta metro area and the droughts over the last few years. East TN hasn't experienced the same droughts that Georgia has, so their water supplies are fine. Georgia, SE Alabama and the Florida panhandle, however, are still suffering from some shortages due to the drought. Once someone pointed out that the state line should be further north, and that the "correct" state line would mean that part of the Tennessee River was in Georgia, well... there's our new water source. :)
