In view of the threat to national security posed by Hurricane Irene, DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano announced today that all carry on baggage will be opened and searched to make certain that passengers are not attempting to bring high winds or rain onto aircraft.

Actually, imho it is funny. Scary as hell to think about it as we're talking about DHS & the TSA but still funny ;)

And the Secret Service wrestled the high winds and rain to the ground.....

It's not funny in the sense that when someone sees it on the way to the airport, with no extra time, no possibility of changing what is packed, and sees that security will be heightened with new rules on what can be taken onto planes, it's not at all funny when someone naturally starts to get upset.

When I'm on my way to an airport, with no extra time, I don't get on line to do some websurfing. But if I did, and saw something that worried me, I would take the extra 4 seconds to click on it to see what it was all about.

Of course, I don't "naturally start to get upset" except when I see Dovster flirting with some other woman,

wouldn't that affect several other million passengers also? if it really was a new restriction, it would take effect in the future

There is no such things new restrictions. Doesn't make a sense from DHS Janet Nappy. This is false information.
