Honestly, is this appropriate for a man (or woman) to do while flying? This is the same pax that was sneezing and coughing incessantly without covering his mouth...

I put this with clipping nails and, for the most part, no, it does not seem like a goon in flight activity. Don't get me wrong, if some one breaks a nail or something (which can hurt or get worse if not addressed), then maybe...but just go use the lavatory to do so!

Only appropriate during meal service :D (that's when I usually pull out my battery-powered shaver)

One time, walking through Union Station in Washington, DC, saw a woman sitting on one of the square bench like things they had in the main hall (can't remember if they still have them or not) clipping her toenails. Completely out in the open. Disgusting.:mad:

Only if they are properly clipped.

What about toes that are being clipped in an avatar?

Would use of a scratching post be OK?

If its between the two, filing or clipping, I would rather have them filing. There is no telling where the nail is going to fly once clipped. But proper edicate should be never in flight or in public, and if you must, please go use the lav...

Better than nail polish application, or nose spelunking.
