Had a nice but not enormous amount of points appear mysteriously in my Hyatt account this morning. Thought maybe it was credit card spend-related, but that had already hit, so I called GP Customer Service, who advised that Hyatt had decided GP points had not always been calculated correctly, and that they had done some sort of lookback for 7 years and applied additional points to accounts.
Unfortunately, our Hyatt relationship is barely 2 years old, so it wasn't a ton of points for us, but it was a great Holiday Surprise!

You got me curious so I checked DH's account and he has had just under 4k of points added. Wish it was 40k, but am grateful for every point we get.

Nothing in my account (no complaints, though!). Would be nice to see an extra stay credit or two - would help with end-of-year requalification! :)

Wonder if they did account audits. There are lots of small errors when I got mine fixed before.

    Dear MilePoint Members,

Recently, we identified a system error that caused an incorrect number of Hyatt Gold Passport points to post to some member accounts. After a comprehensive evaluation, we have made the required adjustments to ensure that these members received a credit with the proper number of points.

Please note, if your account was impacted by this error, you will be communicated to directly via e-mail or direct mail.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Hyatt Gold Passport Customer Service toll free at 1.800.228.3360 in the U.S. and Canada or 1.402.593.8615 when outside the U.S. and Canada, or by e-mail at goldpassport@hyatt.com.

I wish you a warm and wonderful holiday season.

    Safe travels,

No soup for me. I hoped that many foreign locations under rewarding of points would add something, but I guess not.

Ah, MilePoint, thanks for being on top of things! I just came on here to check to see what the deal was with an email I received about a half hour ago saying I'm getting credited with an additional 575 points due to an accounting error. Tried to log into Hyatt.com, but of course it's completely down again! Glad to see it's not a phishing email, and I really will see some extra points (when the website is up again :) )

It's a trick -- they posted a different number on everyone's account and now wait for us to post here what the number was, so they can identify our MP identities.

    Just kidding. :p

    375 points here. Roughly. :D

That's why I got exactly 0 :p They know exactly who I am :D Right after the 2009 program changes, my Private Line Rep waited until I posted in the thread (Flyertalk) before calling me 5 minutes later (She said she wanted to make sure I was up before she called me)

NINE THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED AND SIXTY THREE points posted here. Woo hoo! I have stayed very little at Hyatt in 2011, and the reason was systems issues I detected largely in 2010. So I assume these came from an audit of 2010. Wowie zowie. Now maybe I should feel guilty for cutting my business back in 2011. Nah :)

I do however commend them for apparently auditing the whole customer data base -- seemed to take a long time, but clearly they did it. And as Martha S. would say, that's a good thing.

As someone about to lose Hyatt Diamond status -- all the way down to Gold Passport member -- I appreciate the effort to give me the few points I did not catch over time.

Indeed, while my 375 points aren't a life-changing event, it would have been much easier for them to just ignore the issue. Kudos for doing the right thing, Hyatt GP!

Indeed. Only 100 points, but still very much appreciated in the way this was handled, and that it was handled at all. :)

When I self audited my account a few months ago I went down a total of 150points if you don't include a diamond bonus posting, wonder if they set anyone back. This should add some interesting liabilities on outstanding points.

Seriously? How do you miss 40,000 points not posting to your account?
