I know its nothing huge, but I was very excited to receive a First Class Upgrade. It was my first time flying first class.

Be careful, upgrades are like crack. They can be hard to stop using. :)

Nice. My last flight from EWR to IAH I started at 7 and by the time I boarded was 23. :(

(Thank god I had my E+ exit row seat :)

Sent using a small piece of fruit.

    Congratulations!!
May you be bestowed with many more upgrades in the future!

Once you sit up front, you start getting addicted (even though domestic-First is a very poor product).

My first UA (CO) upgrade was on IAH-PHL.
THe upgrade happened as I was boarding!!
    I was a non-status member flying full-Y !!
It was truly a memorable day!

Thanks. Yes, I have had no issue getting the exit row seats. Thankfully.

I'm at the point where I will actually buy seats up front. Riding up front makes it so much better. (Sitting in CLT right now waiting for my flight home to IAH on a paid first ticket on US (it was only $200 more to go paid first on US than coach on UA on a RJ))

Sent using a small piece of fruit.

I have found that when the cheapest Y fare is only 10 or 20 TODs less than the discounted F fare, it is worth the buy-up especially for long flights.

The thing that has really changed in the UA system is that once upon a time, M and B fares were even less than the discounted Z fares and for 1K's got you immediate upgrade without having to purchase an F fare. Alas, those are long gone and the B fares are now much greater than the Z fares for the same flight. (There are some failures in the merger, this is one of them :()

Congratulations. Keep the memory since CPUs will be very rare at all status levels for so many routes.

I too get pretty excited (and usually disappointed) in getting the complimentary upgrades.
The best kind are those that serves a meal :)

Nice. It was an early and short flight, but we received warm scones for a breakfast treat. It was a nice surprise.

Not at all, once you try Lufthansa or Emirates First Class then YOUR expectations will be blown out of proportion. ;)

Congratulations! I remember my first, and it was an even shorter flight. (MMH-SFO)

    Mackieman is correct, though. :)
