    Ahhh beer. All lovers of these thirst quenching drink must visit Munich, the Mecca of Beer especially when the Oktoberfest is going on. (Beats me why they call it Oktoberfest when in reality it's held in September :p).
    Of course there're other nice things to see in Munich, but I'll leave it to you, dear readers to post them :)

    Bah, Munich is for amateurs . If you want the real beer capital of Germany, head north a bit to Bamberg. Real beer brewed by local brewers in local breweries, not multi-national "Beer Factories" that spend more on marketing than they do on brewing.

    Not that I have a strong opinion or anything :)

    Nice pictures, though.

    View from my hotel room in Munich -- over the Isar River. I visited end of March a few years back.

    Home of Bavarian Kings and Wittelsbach Dynasty until 1918.

    The Antiquarium was built 1568-1571. ~300 busts from collection of Duke Albrecht V.

    Schloss Nymphenburg. Summer Palace. Original 1664. Wings and Annex from 1701 on.

    The Amalienburg at Nymph.
    Built 1734-1739 as a "small summer residence and hunting lodge" for Maria Amalia, wife of Elector Karl Albright.

    Asamkirche. Built by the Asam brothers 1733-1746. I believe they lived on either side of the church. It is overwhelming inside. Hard to even describe.
