    MSNBC: Airline won't refund ticket after passenger dies

    Wow, this is pretty sad. I'm glad to hear the widow ultimately received a refund, but the initial response seemed a bit harsh.

    I do not normally book airline tix via one of the 3rd party websites, so I'm not familiar with who (airline/Expedia) should've provided the refund...I'm glad it looksl ike it worked out in the end.

    Wow- sad story. The real culprit here though was Expedia- as well pointed out in the article- what is the point of having an agent if they don't represent you? That is the whole reason to work with an agent.

    Yes. And since this experience seems typical (I have had similar "customer service" from Travelocity), I refuse to book through those sites if there is another option.
