loan extravaganza in your honor
But he wants to buy Cows.
I am waiting for tomorrow in Kentucky to make my loan in honor of Mrs. Horseguy's birthday. I'll also make a loan to honor IDGflygirl's birthday as well even though it is a few days past.
Wow, Mrs. Horseguy was very touched by the creation of this thread.
Only eight more hours until we start loaning!
I'm ready when I wake up tomorrow!
Are there any requests? <birthday wish loans>
Not really, just cover the world.
I'm Mrs. Horseguy and thank you all for your kind thoughts. If you have the time, I would like to invite you all to visit http://sunisthefuture.net Jan. 23, and Jan. 1, 2012 posts.Jan. 1, 2012 post is about Kiva and Jan. 23, 2012 post is about introducing OSU's Haiti Empowerment Project to Kiva. If you are affiliated with any university or organization that has any programs/projects similar to that of Ohio State University for countries near the equator, I hope you will be able to contact some of these project coordinators to introduce Kiva to them also. In the meantime, I am facebooking/tweeting/calling some other universities, hoping to give them impetus in facilitating the conversion to a solar/renewable energy world. I will really appreciate it if you will be able to talk to more people about this Jan. 23, 2012 post at sunisthefuture.net and try to spread the idea of cooperation between Kiva and various university or organizational empowerment projects throughout the planet earth. So we can all take part in making our world a better place. Cheers!
Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
This sounds like a great project!
Kiva is hoping to offer more green projects in the future and I would definitely help fund a worthy project like this!
and Happy Birthday tomorrow Mrs. Horseguy!
Mrs. Horseguy: Pleasure is mine! Like your profile image!
Mrs. Horseguy: we need to help entrepreneurs in developing nations (esp. those near the equator) to better understand various types of solar/renewable energy businesses that may be easily set up. Get people/businesses to write to Sun Is The Future for suggestions or comments. Thanks!
I'm happy to report that I got in on a couple of those solar energy loans from Honduras last month.
Happy birthday MrsHorseguy. Looking forward to meeting you in San Francisco in March.
Like Miles I managed to get in on some of those solar energy loans in Honduras recently. Being Australian, I'm used to at least having solar powered hot water systems. I know it saves a bundle on energy bills.
Happy Birthday mrs. horseguy. A loan has been made in your honor. Here's to nothing less than one of your best days ever. Cheers.
Thank you -- I appreciate the thought & that a KIVA borrower will benefit!
Happy Birthday, Mrs. Horseguy -- to a fellow Aquarian! I will select a loan in your honor to celebrate!
Happy Birthday Mrs Horseguy!
Just made a loan to Maria Fiaui from Samoa in your honor.
Happy Birthday Mrs. Horseguy. We have made a little bit of solar progress here in Rio de Janeiro. Finally our electrical utility accepted interchange. It is a slight technical issue (we have 127 vac (they will not allow 230 yet due to phase debates) to find commercial inverters that will accomodate that odd frequency, but we are managing, and preparing to convert our domestic requirements to 120 vac in the process, giving our appliances and bulbs a slightly longer life.
For everyone else, if you have not yet visited Sun is The Future please do. It is inspirational! Mrs. Horseguy's birthday is a great day to begin!
Solar water heating not only saves money but it usually is more reliable than gas or electric heating also.
More, for people who live in areas with fluctuating public power, solar power generation almost always is much cleaner power (i.e. most commercial inverters are pure sine wave- public power almost never is) so appliances and lamps last longer, usually much longer, and run quieter also. For computers it saves money too, because you do not need the expensive and inefficient power stabilizers.
Sorry, I don't want to highjack the thread, but it is Mrs. Horseguys birthday, and she knows a huge amount about this topic (not to mention countless others!)
I made one loan for every continent with Kiva entrepreneurs! Have a GREAT Day!
The loan in honor of your BD has posted. Enjoy the day with your family and friends.
I made a loan last night in honor of IDGflygirl's birthday (http://www.kiva.org/lend/383957) now fully funded and today in honor of Mrs. Horseguy's birthday. Today's loan to Abel (http://www.kiva.org/lend/383950) still needs $875. He is from Mexico and needs an eight month loan to stock his grocery store. Mr. & Mrs. Horseguy also loaned to both borrowers.
Thank you. KyRoamer!
I have also lent to Abel in honor of Mrs. Horseguy!
Add another who loaned to Abel in honor of Mrs HG.
I also managed to find a knitter in Bolivia in honor of MissB.
We ought to sing Happy Birthday to Mrs. Horseguy. I'll start:
Happy birthday to you, Happy .....
Someone else better take it from there. I was told that I was so off key that it would be best that way.
