So I am playing with EF to figure out a free one way and I am confused about something.

So the first free one way I am going to try to do is LIM-NYC(stop)-LAX-KOA.
    Code:
    Maximum Permitted Mileage
    LIMKOA-YY 31JAN14

    TICKETED POINT SURCHARGES APPLY.
    GI M 5M 10M 15M 20M 25M

    MPM WH 8022 8423 8824 9225 9626 10027

With the routing being 8604 mi I figure I should be good, since that is LESS than 25% MPM and LAN publishes a fare LIM-KOA.

Now, I was thinking about my way back. and on a whim I looked up KOA-TYO in the vain hope of routing KOA-LAX-BOS(stop)-NRT

    Code:
    KOATYO-YY 31JAN14

    TICKETED POINT SURCHARGES APPLY.
    GI M 5M 10M 15M 20M 25M

    MPM AT 17371 18239 19108 19976 20845 21713

WTF is with those numbers? 17371mi is unbelievably far.

Is this some bug or am doing things wrong?

Those are MPM numbers for TATL travel ("AT"). But BOS-NRT is TPAC. You cannot use these numbers for the proposed routing.

I am going to go out on a limb and guess that the transpac MPM is less thank 8900 miles then.

Is there a way to show the transpac MPM instead?

Is that what this is showing

Yes, that's "PA" so TPAC. And much closer to what I'd expect for an MPM fare between Hawaii and Japan. No going back to the mainland for you.

Well, Japan was just a play guess. MAD (or somewhere deeper in southern europe via MAD/CDG) is much more likely an option.
