Just wondering what kind of movies you like to bring with you when you are on the road or want to watch on IFE. Any good suggestions or classics, special interests, etc

Feel free to turn this into a movie/tv shows review thread if you like

Anyone think it's a terrible idea to show air accident/disaster related movies onboard? I tend to skip movies like those when i am flying.

On the ipad I usually have 1/2 hour comedies that do not take too much concentration. Family guy would have to be a favorite.
Also some travel type programs like man v food. This is mainly to use in the lounge waiting for the plane on small planes without adequate IFE etc. Especially the Qantas Dash 8. You really need noise canceling Headphones on that one.

I tend to give that sort a miss as well. On SQ the week before last I watched Due Time, quite funny especially the dog.[IMG]

Comedies are nice. I like those NBC comedies shown on AA flights. It's a good way to light up the cabin (well at least for those who are watching) and get my mind off the scary thought that I m flying  Any good comedies that you would recommend?

WOW they have Due Time on their IFE already? It's still showing in some movie theatre in the US.

It was a couple of weeks ago, coming back I watched RED, that was quite entertaining as well.

Sounds like a good plan, but I never seem to be able to sleep on planes.

Same here. No matter how much I tried, it's still very hard to fall into sleep for me. Maybe next time I should torture myself and try to watch a movie I can't understand at all. Those Wong Kar Wai movies like 2046 seems to do the trick when I am watching them at home

From the poster, sounds like there are lots of gun fires involved. Definitely will keep you awake ;) On scale of 1-10, 10 being the best, how many stars will you give the movie

SQ seem to have above average IFE of course thr newer the plane the better. Silk Air would have to be towards the other end of the scale. Nice planes but all they have is a small drop down screen with silent tv shows. Not too bad on flights up to 2 hours but any longer and the ipad comes out.

At least that is better than nothing on some of the domestic flights. On JL and NH domestic flights, all they show are Japanese programs on the main screen if there are any contents to be shown at all. You won't be able to understand any part of it (well maybe the part they are trying to sell you some duty free items)

I usually just take old shows that I have seen before (Seinfeld, etc). That way I don't have to think too much and don't mind if I get interrupted

Last moth I saw Dinner With The Schmucks, if you like over the US Comedy this could be for you. It was very funny at times and ideal for travel. At least with a light comedy it does not matter about interruptions as much. Probably 6.5 to 7

You can pretty much find any TV show in PNH. I'm talking the entire the show, every episode, for about $1.5 per DVD. And they're good quality. I'll bring these with me to while away the TPAC flights.
