Announced Thursday 10 May, as the integration of the former bmi into BA continues at a cracking pace,

Some bmi routes will move to BA flight numbers
We plan to transition bmi flight numbers to BA flight numbers in phases, in order to ensure the process runs as effectively as possible.
With effect from 10 May the following bmi routes will move to a BA flight number:
    • Agadir
    • Basel
    • Bergen
    • Casablanca
    • Hanover
    • Marrakech
    • Nice
    • Stavanger
    • Vienna
This will come as a blow to some who who hoping to fast track BD Gold ahead of a match to BA Gold by the recent cheap BD business fares to NCE. Even though the £164 NCE return J fares are over, they are still available at £194 - a lot cheaper than the same sector on BA metal, but will now no longer earn BD status.
At the same time, it was announced that effective immediately all flights ex LHR could now only be booked on (or through BA's other sales channels, but specifically not on This only serves to highlight the current price disparity where BA and BD are both running services to the same place like NCE.
But, in better news tosday, BA have applied to re-introduce a sector dropped by BD in 2008, the domestic LHR-LBA.
Once again Yorkshire may be on the map with an alternative that isn't FlyingBlue!

Ouch, but OTOH May/June is very pleasant around NCE. Wish I were there.
