World Toliet Day [November 19th]
Ground Hog Day, especially because it's so recognized and celebrated. It's made a small town in Pennsylvania famous as well as a rodent (?) named Phil.
4/15 rubber eraser day
Today is national tell a joke day
Are you joking?
Australia has "Melbourne Cup Day" as a holiday in honor (honour?) of their Kentucky Derby equivalent horse race. It is a mid-week affair. Imagine the entire US taking a weekday off for a horse race?
In fairness, it is only a state/bank holiday in Victoria. In NSW, while not a lawful holiday and banks are open, business effectively comes to a standstill for the day (and the day before). The ACT took a more tactful approach, and has a bank holiday that day called, "Family Day," which I guess sounds better.
Prince Kuhio Day. Because it resulted in a wasted trip to pick up concrete block from Maui Block Company who closed for it!
