I noticed a flight on United.com as being flagged as "Subject to Government Approval":

When I clicked on the details, I saw this:

I guess since the development of United.com is outsourced outside of the US, a route within the US would be considered needing a foreign government approval :)

Well, I guess they decided to tightly regulate the slots at EWR even more ;)

Or Newark and/or San Francisco are considered foreign governments now.

I wonder if this is the domestic leg of the planned EWR-CAI service. What date were you looking at?

United.com does not show it anymore. And I don't think it was part of any flights to Cairo, since UA 1010 (aka CO 1010) is strictly an SFO-EWR segment.

I saw some of that also was odd looking, but maybe since they don't have the single op cert they need the approval to fly them routes.
