    Tar sands traffic must be picking back up (Suncor, which has a plant in DEN also has a large stake in Alberta tar sands).

    I like the ORD-SJO addition, but I'm not sure about that word "weekly." Does that mean once/week or simply "not daily?" The idea of getting to ORD without going through IAH or EWR is very appealing if the frequency will match my scheduling needs. It also means added connection options for us SJO expats bound for other final destinations.

    More: My favorite word.

    Maybe, if the plastic plane ever starts working right. It certainly would be nice to have a Star Alliance option to SCL that doesn't involve flying the entire way on a mix of 737s and E90s.

    I'm stoked about IAD-SJO!, IAD-GUA can come or go (will likely be popular with DC's predominately Guatemalan and Salvadorean latino community), still, still, still, holding out hope for IAD-BZE.

    I like the IAD-SJO, too. Didn't mention it, as I'm more often headed to ORD. Now all we need are SFO-SJO and DEN-SJO, and the hubs will all serve Costa Rica. It makes sense, too, as the flights to and from here are always packed.

    Now now UA is about right sizing the markets so I'm sure Ken will demand a 787 be used. :p

    Demand? I'm trying to figure out any scenario in which I have ever succeeded in demanding anything from any airline. Now "grovel..." There's a word that is more definitive of my style when trying to get something I want from UA. :D

    Either that, or they have a pretty lame electrical distribution system. It's interesting that 3 UA and 1 QR have broken, but we haven't heard the same about NH & JL aircraft. I wonder if there's something unique about how these more recent aircraft are outfitted.
