Seems like many rumors going around about (possible) new changes to Delta.
The rumors has it that C+ would be considered a class of its own with its own fare bucket "W"
Some blogs also talked of Delta might physically separate" C+ with the rest of the Economy
Gold and FO is likely to be impacted somehow (some +ve, some -ve)
Plat and Diamond should still get C+ ("upgrade") at booking if available.
Could be a way for Delta to say they've upgraded their loyal customers hence promises delivered.. +_+
C+ upgrade certs are rumoured to be on their way.

Not sure which blogger first broke the rumors so I shall not advertise any particular one
Just do a quick Google and take your pick

Looks like some of these are AF ideas. Ex CDG, on an AF metal, at the gate, I tend to get into their equivalent of Economy+ at boarding.

It's happened. C+ became a cabin class with its own fares on Saturday, to affect domestic flights starting in late spring. Now you can book C+ award tickets too, in many reported cases for the same number of miles as business/FC.

KLM is also no longer giving free EC seats to any partner elites.

Biggest pain is the potential lost of complimentary EC when travelling with even 1 additional pax who has no status since the upgrade will happen at the lowest passenger status.

As for single pax itinerary, lots of talk that the upgrade defaults to middle seat and the pax has to quickly select another seat.

More steps and less benefits. :(

Also, with the consolidation of Marriott and SPG, crossover rewards looks set to go away as well.

I can attest to that. My last KLM flight, I got no upgrade. :(

It's not talk. I saw that happen on SIN-NRT, had to change it to an aisle. Scums !

Absolutely no upgrades on KL anymore. I've been unlucky with even choosing a seat for KL flights between Europe and Asia lately. KL changes are pretty ridiculous. If DL goes the same way, not giving the C+ seats for frequent flyers, what happens next? Soon we won't be able to choose our seats at all. What's the reason to be a FF with SkyTeam, then?

You ought to know, by now, since you are a ten-year ST E+. This is because being a FF (Elite) with ST is:

Well, with China Eastern now a Group 1 airline partner, there is at least a cheaper alternative to getting full MQM. So that is at least 1 positive change in a sea of -ve changes....
