Money Bomb II will be happening during the Kiva DO on March 9 and March 10. Your physical presence is not required to participate!

As before, our countdown timer is here (http://milepointkiva.wikispaces.com/) as well as a wiki where we can record what countries we have lent to. In Money Bomb I, our team covered the world twice. By "covering the world", we mean loaning to every single available loan in every single country.

Can our team cover the world three times in Money Bomb II?

I did not realise that in MoneyBomb 1 that we managed to cover the world once, let alone twice. That is an amazing achievement and would say that 3 time would have to be on the cards with that number of Kiva addicts in the one room.

We should ask nime01 to transfer the pledges from the $2M pledge page (even if there are only three of us on the list).

Will there be a handout or a link which can explain to me the mechanics of the moneybomb?

Money Bomb - lend, lend, lend, lend again! 47 hours of lending from New Zealand to Hawaii (we need to find someone in Samoa to join our team!) :D The goal was for the team to try and have at least one lender on every loan Kiva listed that day. It was also a good way to see how much the team could do. We lent almost $125K that day, and it brought in a lot of new members and made strong ties to teams like the LLLs and FofBHs!

    Here was the original thread.

I apologize. I am in a minor sauvignon blanc haze and was not specific. Is there an efficient way to lend so we can assure all loans are covered by team members? Or is it merely a haphazard approach where folks can spend an inordinate amount of time looking for loans not covered my KLTMPers?

If you look at the wiki page for the money bomb, anyone who covers a country can add it to the list on the wiki. By "cover a country", I mean loaning to every available loan in that country.

The wiki worked quite well the last time, although not all of us used it. This time we'll have many more lenders so a trifle of discipline will help us know better how many countries we cover.

We seem not to have mentioned that during Money Bomb I we not only loaned to every available country at least twice but we also loaned to every single available loan that day, also at least two people. We did that with roughly $125,000 (a few hundred $ were just outside the timing window).

This time we will have many more members and many more Kiva loans too. The last time, coinciding with the OW MegaDO Launch Party, we wowed the AA, Hyatt and Boeing people with our Kiva fetish. Also, truth be known, with our AA fetish, for horseguy was the master AAdvantage accumulator of the group with 11 million miles. I was a distant second with only 8 milion.

I wasn't aware of the wiki then, but I just lent to MB loans that were posted that day!

Once again I have no idea what you are talking about. It is one of the few times in my life that I am in the majority.

    :DBreaking news:D

The following has been in the works for a long time, and now is ready:

FOR PEOPLE WHO PLAN TO LEND MORE THAN $30,000 AT ANY ONE TIME. I do have wire transfer instructions to use for placing funds directly with Kiva. If you need those just open a Conversation with me and I will provide the required information. I have both SWIFT and ABA information so either international or domestic transfers can be accommodated. To ease processing burden on Kiva these should be transactions of $30,000 or more. Otherwise the PayPal option is preferred.

The auction & raffle proceeds go to a separate MP Kiva fund, so they wouldn't technically be loans that count towards the team on Kiva during this MB.;)

Will this be the group account that was talked about with the NFL topic as well? I don't mind that at all, just wasn't sure how it was going about exactly :)
