Last week I had a trip to MNL and from there to SIN. I wanted to be in MNL by the afternoon of Monday but because I was going back to SIN before returning to KIX, instead of a flight on PR I got the routing ITM-HND-SIN-MNL with NH for the domestic leg and on SQ for the international legs. There used to be a direct KIX-MNL flight on TG, which could have worked out too but they cancelled it last year. Oh well, more miles isn't bad :D

(BTW I don't have all the pix of the first part with me right now, sorry about that)

Anyway my flight from ITM to HND was the last flight from ITM on Sunday evening so I went to ITM by train and arrived around dinner time. Hungry for a snack I had a tonkatsu set meal while waiting for the flight to board.

After dinner, I took a small break in the lounge and in the meantime used upgrade points to get a Premium Economy seat.

They served a pretty good dinner on the flight, so I couldn't refuse it!

After arriving at HND I transferred to the international terminal by free shuttle bus. Even though the international terminal and domestic terminal are quite far apart, HND is so efficient that it took about 10 minutes to do all this.
I had taken a look around the HND international terminal already during my last visit so this time I went straight to the ANA lounge for a snack.

Lots of people waiting inside the C lounge!

The menu for C (sorry it's blurred). We could choose to have dinner (breakfast) on the plane after takeoff so that's what I did. I had the beef.

Arriving in SIN I had a 3 hour layover until my connecting flight to MNL.
Nothing much was open then and I've been to Changi airport many times already so again I slummed it out in the SKL T3 lounge. I only found out much later that karung99 was also in SIN airport at that time, on his way to Bali! What a shame, I could have finally met him :(

I took SQ910 to fly from SIN to MNL. One disappointment here, I specifically requested that the mileage be put on my ANA account, but it somehow found its way into my SQ account. I'm still fighting to get these miles transferred.

    (sorry no pics here)

Anyway, I arrived in Manila on time and went to check in at the Crowne Plaza. I did some hotel hopping between this hotel and the Holiday Inn next door so I could finally start building up points for my Priority Club account. Although I booked the lowest priced rooms for both hotels thanks to PC Plat status I got an upgrade to "pool view" for the Crowne Plaza, and an upgrade to a junior suite at the Holiday Inn. Thanks PC!

After the short stay in Manila, it was time to go to Singapore, which I did by SQ917

Long line of people at immigration! At least it was moving, it took about 20 minutes to get through this.

Went through the metal scans and a patdown and after that I had about an hour and a half to spare before my flight to SIN boarded so I went lounge hopping.

The corridor going toward the TG lounge. JL & QR lounges are to the right.

Entrance to the TG lounge. On its right is the entrance to the contract lounge for OZ flights.

Even though I had a *A C boarding pass the TG lounge dragon still demanded to see my *A card
Isn't it a benefit of *A to allow holders of C boarding passes to visit any of their C class lounges?

Inside the TG lounge. Still too early for the TG flight so nobody around.
As you can see it's dark and gloomy. The view from the window is the other side of the terminal building.

The plane from MNL to SIN
    [IMG]

My flight was delayed for about an hour due to failure of the flight computer, but after they fixed it and the plane took off it was an uneventful flight.(sorry again, no plane pix here)

Upon arriving at SIN, I went by taxi to stay at the Copthorne King Hotel of the Millennium and Copthorne Hotels. I had stayed here only once before, which was when I missed a connection at SIN. It was a rather basic room, compared to the hotel rooms of the M Hotel of the same group. However, the hotel location was quite close to Clarke Quay.

After a couple of days at the Copthorne King I transfered to the Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre ("Cuppage Plaza"). Again I had reserved the cheapest room available too, but they gave me a 2 level upgrade to a junior suite! :D

I flew back to KIX on the Sunday redeye flight. This was also after a day filled with good eating so by the time it was time to check in I was quite stuffed already so I just had a little sugar fix at the SKL lounge.

As usual, had "breakfast" after takeoff. I was going to work after arriving so I wanted as much sleep as possible for the rest of the way to Osaka!

I got back at to KIX at around 8:30AM, on time. I was still in short sleeves so it was pretty chilly but the limousine bus to Kobe came soon so I just decided to enjoy the cold.

After a shower and change of clothes at home I went to the office before lunch. Did some catch-up work on stuff that was piled up on my desk. But in the late afternoon, I had another trip to MNL decided - for the following day! I had to be in MNL by the evening but since I had a meeting in the morning I booked an afternoon OZ flight from KIX to ICN and from there a OZ flight to MNL.

Back at KIX. It wasn't too crowded, which was good.

My flight to ICN was an OZ codeshare flight on NH metal so I checked in at the NH counters. For some reason the OZ system wasn't open yet for coordinating with the NH system so I could only get the boarding pass for the KIX-ICN leg. Is that supposed how a sky trax 5 star airline supposed to be?

While waiting to pass the time I had a snack at one of the 2nd floor restaurants.
Akashiyaki (softer type takoyaki which you dip in broth before eating)

There was a line of people going through security at the north security entrance of the terminal, so I passed through the south one. Only about 5 people in line there.

By this time there wasn't much time to look into the lounge so I went straight to the gate.

    Snack time.

This is what came out of the rice cracker pouch. Very generous serving

We arrived at the satellite terminal of ICN so took the shuttle to go to the main terminal building. I went up to the transfer desks and got a boarding pass for my ICN-MNL flight.

I arrived at MNL at 11PM to Chaos at the baggage claim area
    [IMG]

More chaos at the arrival area. It was raining so that made it worse.

Anyway somehow I found my way back to the Crowne Plaza, where I stayed last week and where I am now (in the same kind of room as before)

So that's how it is for now, thanks for reading this far!

    Thanks for the report.

On the SQ redeyes I also prefer to eat after take off (if at all) so as to be able to sleep as late as possible on the flight.
