Just noticed this on my account page - Air Canada Million Mile Program - Status Miles accumulated *

Not sure how long this has been there but it is a nice addition.

Here is the link on the page - http://www.aircanada.com/en/aeroplan/mmp.html

Directly below the 2012 Air Canada Status Activity, and above recent transactions.

Edited to note that I checked both my wifes and daughters account and it is not showing on their accounts. I wonder if you have to be past a certain threshold for it to show?

Yes, you have to be over 500K miles in order for it to start to show apparently.

That explains why I don't see it -- I think I am somewhere in the 250-300K range. I wish I was more savvy wrt MM status -- between my UA and AC accounts, I would prob a year away from MM status, instead, I am about 4 yrs from UA MM or a bazillion on AC.

I think it takes 10 yrs or Red Panda accumulations to make 1 Giant Panda contribution! but then there is the surcharge for redeeming!

still the UA bump in Lifetime miles makes me want to complete the journey (and break my back and wallet at the same time!) :D

after that, I will think about the Aeroplan MM and UA 2MM!

  8. If it doesn't show and you are either over a MM or close you should call the SE desk or whatever status you hold and ask them for your mileage. I believe there is an email address you can send a query to but I don't know it.

If it doesn't show it is almost certainly because you are not close.

it does say you have to be over 500K miles in order to show............... long long way to go........ Wonder if OZ MM is easier to get, as my furthest route is YYZ-NRT

But if you mostly fly on AC metal, all that will get you is lounge access and the *G check-in/boarding. On the other hand, if your travel pattern includes a lot of OZ long-haul flights, this makes a lot of sense.

This has been on the statement page for half a year now...get with the program, man! As noted, only counted are base/COS miles flown on AC metal flights (which include Jazz, Regional) since 1989 when elite tiers were introduced. Does not include mileage earned between 1984 and 1989, nor any CP miles flown. AC must be the only carrier that does not recognize miles flown on the airlines it acquired, nor miles earned from the first day of program membership!

  20. I would hope that more people write to Calin and strongly suggest they stop the CP discrimination.

Highly doubt that will fly. If so, I'd be 2MM now, quite possibly 3MM if they counted mileage of both carriers from July 1984 when the AC and CP programs began.

  22. so, you are saying you would have flown almost 2MM miles on AC/CP and between 1984 and 1988 since you are not yet a mm'er?

From July 1984 through December 1988 I had between 150K-170K AC base/COS miles (I have my original account statements and did a rough calculation) and twice that number of CP flight miles. By 1989 I received a letter from CP congratulating me on accumulating a million points (lots of double bonus flight miles back then). Over the next twelve years I did more flying on CP than AC because it was the better airline and I was based out west, averaging 75K flight miles a year earning President's Gold status (with another 25K-35K on AC earning Prestige but mostly Elite ). And remember, through most of the 90s domestic discount economy only earned 50% mileage and who knew about Mileage Runs? I was just doing transcons every other week, some US flights (mainly on Western, then NW) and a couple of flights to Europe.

MM.jpg I made it! Crossed the threshold on a flight last week, and received the email congratulating me yesterday. I am looking forward to receiving the package.
